In 2009 two Alpaca ranches in Ontario joined forces to create the best breeding program possible using the best animals from the two herds. The two farm names were Cedar Ridge Alpacas and Alpaca Vista Ranch. The owners, Denise and James Cole, Lillian and Casey Dewit, had been friends in the business for many years. Both James and Casey have served on the National Alpaca Association Board of Directors Alpaca Canada, and James also served on the Ontario Provincial Association Alpaca Ontario.
